Short answers for the questions that show up on almost every RFQ call. For a formal path on a part number, use the quote form with drawings attached.
What does InfraSpec Optics manufacture?
Infrared optics — windows, lenses and coatings on ZnSe, germanium, silicon, ZnS, chalcogenide and related IR substrates — finished in five coating chambers under ISO 9001. Visible, UV and some laser-head catalogue parts are distributed (bought to print) into commercial, medical, industrial-laser and CO2-laser programs.
Do you sell CO2 laser lenses?
Yes. CVD ZnSe focusing lenses and output windows with AR at 10.6 µm, plus copper turning mirrors, are a core infrared manufacturing line. Send diameter, EFL or the OEM head print via CO2 & fiber laser optics or the quote form.
Do you sell germanium windows and LWIR lenses?
Yes. Germanium windows and lenses for 8–12 µm thermal imaging, with LWIR AR. See germanium and the LWIR engineering note.
Do you manufacture or distribute?
Both, and we say which on the quote. Infrared we manufacture and coat. Specified commercial, medical and industrial-laser catalogue parts we buy and resell. If a drawing is IR, expect fabrication and coating. If it is an OEM drop-in or a visible catalogue window, expect distribution.
Do you sell to Europe?
Yes — B2B only. You are the importer of record (typically EXW/FCA Florida). We issue commercial invoice, packing list, and on request ISO 9001, REACH/RoHS and material certificates. We do not CE-mark components as finished equipment and we are not an MDR medical-device manufacturer. Start with EU / UK supply and Legal notice.
Are you ISO certified?
Yes — ISO 9001. The certificate is sent on request to sales@infraspecoptics.com. We supply medical OEMs as a market; we do not claim ISO 13485.
Do you support production volumes?
Yes. We optimise for repeat production: locked recipes, coating performance hold, yield control and inventory-based fulfilment on recurring part numbers — not only first articles.
Can you coat customer-supplied optics?
Yes. Finished, uncoated optics can be submitted for coating-only service after incoming inspection of surface quality, figure and coating compatibility. Only qualified parts proceed.
What should I include in an RFQ?
Material (or band if open), wavelengths or laser lines, dimensions and tolerances, surface quality, coating prescription, quantity and drawings or STEP files when available. Power density and environment help when laser or outdoor use is in play.
How do I match a wavelength to a substrate?
Use the Spectral Explorer to drag your line across 0.12–25 µm and see which of the twelve stocked substrates transmit (or reflect, for copper). Confirm grade-specific datasheets before design freeze — explorer ranges are selection guides.
How fast do you respond?
We aim to respond to complete RFQs within one to two business days. Complex multi-band coating stacks may need extra engineering review before a firm price and lead time.
