Fibers and fiber-optic
components.
Silica, fluoride, chalcogenide and PIR fiber plus hollow waveguide for CO₂ — quoted with the collimator so NA and coating match the window you already specified.
Fiber that matches the window.
Silica stops being useful in the mid-IR. We quote silica patchcords for VIS/NIR, fluoride and chalcogenide fiber for MWIR, polycrystalline infrared (PIR) for the long wave, and hollow silica waveguide when the source is a CO2 laser. Connector, NA and wavelength have to be one system — including the collimator on the end.
- Silica~0.3 – 2.4 µm
- Fluoride (ZBLAN)~0.4 – 4.5 µm
- Chalcogenide~1.5 – 6.5 µm (grade-dep.)
- PIR (AgCl/AgBr)~4 – 18 µm
- Hollow WGCO2 10.6 µm delivery
Do not do this
A SMA fused-silica collimator on chalcogenide fiber at 4.6 µm is a heat source, not a couple. Match substrate of the collimator to the fiber band — see collimators.

Silica fiber & patchcords
Multimode and single-mode silica for sensing, spectroscopy and 1 µm delivery. High-OH vs low-OH is a real choice around 1.4 µm — say which.

Mid-IR fiber
Fluoride for 2–4.5 µm (Er:YAG, some QCLs). Chalcogenide glass fiber for 2–6 µm process and sensing. Minimum bend radius is not optional — we will print it on the quote.

- HandlingBrittle vs silica — plan the strain relief
PIR & hollow waveguide
Polycrystalline AgCl/AgBr fiber for 8–12 µm thermal and spectroscopy. Hollow silica waveguide for CO2 delivery when a transmissive fiber would absorb.
- PIRKeep dry · light-sensitive
- HWGLoss vs bend — send path
Collimators & couplers
Connectorised collimators, 1×2 couplers and combiners. AR on the collimator must match the fiber band; see the assemblies page for QCL coupling.

OEM subassemblies
Build-to-print fiber plus window or collimator as one lot. Useful when the instrument already buys our ZnSe or CaF2 windows and needs the delivery path from the same RFQ.

Power handling
CW CO2 into a PIR fiber is a different problem from a 5 mW QCL into chalcogenide. Send average power, pulse width if any, and the launch NA. We will refuse combinations that only melt the connector.

Quote fiber with the optic.
One RFQ for window + fiber + collimator beats three vendors arguing about NA later.
