We quote the parts a spectrometer actually consumes: FTIR windows and cells, beamsplitters, ATR crystals, fiber coupling optics and coating-qualification accessories. Complete UV–VIS or Raman instruments are sourced to a written specification — we do not publish a fake catalogue of SKUs we do not stock.

FTIR windows & cells

KBr, NaCl, CaF2, ZnSe, Ge and Si windows — plane or 0.5° wedge to kill etalon fringes. Demountable liquid cells, gas cells and window pairs to the bench’s slide.

Beamsplitters

KBr (mid-IR), CaF2 (NIR–MIR), ZnSe and far-IR films. Substrate and coating must match the detector and the source — a KBr BS on a wet NIR-only bench is the wrong part.

ATR crystals

ZnSe, Ge, Si, diamond and KRS-5 ATR elements, 45° typical, other angles to print. Ge for high-index samples; ZnSe for routine organics; diamond when chemistry attacks everything else.

Polarizers & sample optics

IR grid polarizers, KRS-5 and ZnSe plates, off-axis parabolas for sample focusing. Useful when the method is specular reflectance or grazing-angle RAS.

Process / fiber couple

Sapphire and fused-silica probe windows, collimators onto SMA/FC, and mid-IR fiber interfaces for online analysis. Same lot discipline as the coated windows on the rest of the site.

  • Scan range (cm−1 or nm) and whether the bench is purged
  • Window / ATR / BS — and the OEM accessory P/N if replacing
  • Wedge requirement (fringe control) and clear aperture
  • Sample chemistry (water, acid, solvent) — it kills KBr
  • For an instrument: resolution, detector type, portable vs lab
